  • responsible for policy advice on the implementation of reform of Commonwealth business enterprises, and the Commonwealth's oversight of particular enterprises such as Telstra

August 1989 to October 1990: Senior Director, Programs and Resources, Northern Territory Treasury, Darwin

  • responsible for the Budget, Economic and Project Evaluation Branches

January 1980 to August 1989: Commonwealth Treasury, including:

  • January 1989 to August 1989: Director, Fiscal Policy Review Section, Canberra responsible for monitoring the stance of fiscal policy and examining the budgetary and broader economic impacts of major expenditure proposals brought to Cabinet
  • December 1986 to January 1989: Director, State Finances Section, Canberra responsible for advising on the Commonwealth's revenue sharing and major specific purpose payment arrangements with the States, and for representing the Commonwealth Treasury before the Commonwealth Grants Commission
  • June 1986 to December 1986: Senior Finance Officer, Monetary Policy Review Section, Canberra responsible for monitoring the implications of current and prospective economic conditions for the stance of monetary policy
